We all know someone who just oozes confidence.
It’s not the loud one who is always making sure they are heard and proclaiming to be right all the time. They might appear to be very confident, but they are most likely trying to cover up their own insecurities.
It’s the quiet one, the one that listens, the one that isn’t afraid to be wrong.
Confidence has nothing to do with being right all the time. Instead, it is a natural expression of ability, expertise, and self-regard.
In this blog, you’ll find out how you can become that confident person by changing only one thing.
“I have never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that.”
– Pipi Longstocking
What is confidence?
When most people think of confidence, they are thinking about the ability to predict an outcome.
They think about how certain they feel that something will happen, and if they feel very certain, they will feel very confident. But if, for whatever reason, they begin to feel uncertain, or unable to predict the outcome, then their confidence will decrease. Instead they’ll feel anxious and concerned.
It is virtually impossible to guarantee or predict outcomes. There are too many variables and possibilities in life, especially when it comes to interacting with other people. This makes it very difficult to be confident in this way of thinking.
Many people suffer low confidence because they are trying to predict or deal with the unknown, much of which is imagined. If they only knew the outcome, they could deal with it. It’s the not knowing that causes them the anxiety.
A new way of thinking
What if I told you there is a new and different way of approaching this?
You see, there is something that you can be completely be confident in. All the time. You can be completely confident in the fact that you will do your best. Whatever the situation you find yourself in. You can be absolutely confident that you will do your best, no matter the outcome.
Sometimes the outcome will be good, and sometimes it won’t. As we concluded before, we can’t predict or guarantee the outcomes. But whatever the outcome, whatever happens, you can be confident that you will do your best to deal with it.
See what happens
From now on you no longer need to predict outcomes or try and feel confident about anything based on an outcome. Instead you can base your confidence on the fact that you will do your best, see what happens, and that is enough.
You can now be someone who allows the unknown to be unknown and feel OK with that. Knowing that you can be confident that you will do your best, and that is enough. Whatever happens, you can be absolutely confident that you will do your best to deal with it.
Let your confidence grow
You can easily incorporate this new way of thinking into your life.
Simply by allowing yourself to think in this new way, you will feel your confidence levels increasing daily. You are now confident in something that you can be confident in.
From now onwards, wherever you are and whoever you are with, you’ll begin to replace the old way of thinking with the new. You’ll be able to feel more confident with every day that you do.
